It Is What It Is

Story Acceptance never comes easy. Every day we wake up, take control of our day, and move just a bit closer to our goals. But what happens when we can’t control everything? The entire image of our world will shift perspectives. While attending college, I got the incredible opportunity to spend a semester abroad in Italy. I was so excited to follow in the footsteps of my mother and connect to my grandmother’s culture. I stepped foot there in February of 2020; this trip would not last long. The pandemic hit Italy hard, shutting down communities and causing hundreds of students to return back to their countries feeling confused and worried. In these early days, there was so little information about COVID-19.
