Better Today

Story I'm not a very competitive person. I try to avoid any kind of situation that could potentially lead to conflict with friends and family. Competitions tend to bring out behavior that I don't enjoy, whether it's my own behavior or others'. The only competition that I ever get involved in is with myself. I don't want to prove that I'm the "best" to anyone but myself. My only competition is me, and I like it that way. Maybe it's because I'm afraid of failure, but I find competing against others means that I'm constantly comparing myself to them, to their best, not my own. Competing with myself means that I only have myself and my own past accomplishments to best.
